Job summary

Bespoke Engineering is seeking a highly capable Structural Engineer in South East Queensland to lead complex bespoke projects. You will stay hands-on from design through construction, while guiding a growing specialist team in a consulting setting.

Ideal candidates bring strong experience in building structures, practical construction knowledge, and the ability to liaise directly with architects, builders and clients. PT concrete and RPEQ considerations are valued but not essential.

The Role

You'll take ownership of complex bespoke structural projects, remaining hands-on from design through to construction while becoming a key part of a growing specialist team.

Your role will include:

• Hands-on structural design across steel and concrete
• Suspended slab and PT concrete design
• Custom residential, complex renovations and boutique multi-residential projects
• Project ownership from design through construction
• Working directly with architects, builders and clients
• Site inspections and practical construction-stage solutions
• Design review, coordination and technical problem solving
• Commercial input into project delivery and client outcomes

About You

Technical capability matters, but attitude, communication and the way you approach your work matter just as much.

You'll be an experienced Structural Engineer with strong hands-on design capability across steel and concrete, including suspended slabs and ideally PT concrete.

You'll also bring:

• Strong experience within building structures
• Practical construction knowledge and sound engineering judgement
• Confidence dealing directly with architects, builders and clients
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A commercial mindset and ownership of project outcomes
• The ability to work autonomously while collaborating with other experienced engineers
• Experience across bespoke residential, complex renovations or boutique multi-residential would be highly regarded
• Existing relationships within the architectural community would be advantageous
• RPEQ registration is highly regarded, however there is flexibility depending on your broader experience, capability and fit.
