Baigents Pty Ltd in Melbourne seeks a hands-on Senior Structural Engineer to lead design and delivery across commercial, retail, industrial, and other building projects. You will work directly with directors, clients, architects and builders, taking ownership from design through construction.
The role requires 6–9 years of Australian structural engineering experience, strong knowledge of Australian Standards and the NCC, and capability in steel, concrete and post-tensioned designs.
This is a hands on senior engineering role with responsibility across design, project delivery, client liaison and construction phase support. You will work directly with directors, clients, architects, builders and other consultants, taking ownership of projects from design through to construction.
Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Typically 6 to 9 years of Australian structural engineering experience, although capability and experience will be considered ahead of years alone.
Strong technical capability in structural steel and reinforced concrete design.
Experience with post tensioned concrete, timber and existing structures will be highly regarded.
Strong working knowledge of Australian Standards and the NCC.
Demonstrated ability to independently deliver structural engineering projects.
Confident dealing directly with clients, builders, architects and site teams.
Practical and commercially aware approach to engineering and construction issues.
Able to review the work of other engineers and drafters and provide clear technical direction.
Well organised, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of project outcomes.
Familiar with software such as SPACEGASS, Strand7, RAPT, IDEA StatiCa, Structural ToolkIit, ETABS, or similar.
CPEng and Victorian registration, or progress toward registration, highly regarded.
Exposure to civil design will be valued.
