Job summary

Queensland Rail in Brisbane seeks a Senior Structural Design Drafter to lead drafting across rail and infrastructure projects, combining hands-on drafting with team leadership. You will produce high-quality drawings in AutoCAD and MicroStation, mentor drafters, coordinate with engineers, and drive drafting standards and continuous improvements.

Qualifications

Significant experience in structural drafting within infrastructure or related environment.
Advanced AutoCAD and 12D skills; MicroStation experience highly regarded.
Experience leading, mentoring or coordinating drafting teams.
Strong knowledge of structural detailing and constructability principles.
Excellent communication across multidisciplinary teams.
Proactive, quality-focused with continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

Producing and reviewing high-quality structural drawings and documentation using AutoCAD and MicroStation.
Leading drafting activities across multiple projects from concept through to construction.
Mentoring and supporting drafters and designers within the team.
Coordinating with structural, civil and geotechnical engineers to deliver integrated project outcomes.
Managing drawing revisions, technical reviews and quality assurance processes.
Contributing to drafting standards, workflow improvements and continuous improvements.
