Job summary

Systra is seeking a Experienced to Senior Civil Drafter to join our Brisbane (or Melbourne) team on national rail projects. This hands-on role offers scope, ownership, and influence within a growing national drafting group delivering complex D&C rail infrastructure.

You will mentor junior drafters, produce detailed drawings, manage drafting tasks and liaise with engineers to resolve design issues, with strong AutoCAD 2D and 12d skills valued.

Qualifications

• Senior/Experienced Civil Drafter for rail/civil D&C projects.
• Able to independently produce detailed drawings and coordinated drafting outputs.
• Strong AutoCAD 2D skills; 12d experience highly regarded.
• Ability to check drawings for accuracy and clashes with engineers/designers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed rail drawings and CAD models across concept, design development and detailed design stages.
• Translate engineering designs, sketches and mark-ups into accurate technical drawings, details and coordinated drawing sets.
• Work with engineers and multidisciplinary drafters to incorporate design changes and resolve clashes and drafting discrepancies.
• Check drawings and models for accuracy, consistency and compliance with client requirements and company standards.
• Manage assigned drafting tasks, deadlines, drawing registers and revision records, with regular progress updates.
• Support junior drafters with CAD techniques and detailing, collaborating with the Drafting Manager to resolve issues.
