Job summary

Connexus on Sydney's Lower North Shore is seeking a senior structural drafting professional. You will produce structural shop drawings and detailed documentation, mostly in Revit, and turn markups into clean sets while coordinating architectural and structural models so nothing clashes on site.

You will have at least five years of structural drafting experience, be proficient in Revit (AutoCAD is a plus), hold a drafting or engineering qualification, and thrive in a no-hybrid, full-time office

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain BIM models, run QC on drawings, and keep the drawing register up to date.

Job description

You know your drawings are buildable. You just rarely hear it from the builder.

Here, you will. This is a structural consultancy that works side by side with builders. Your sets go to site fast, and the feedback comes straight back.

The team is small and tight. Everyone knows what everyone else is working on. The engineers sit a desk away, so you can sort a markup question with a quick chat.

The work is serious too. Their project book is worth well over $100 million, and the designs are about finding the smarter, cheaper way to build something.

What you'll be doing?

You'll produce structural shop drawings and detailed documentation for building projects, mostly in Revit. You'll take engineering markups and design changes and turn them into clean, accurate sets. You'll coordinate the architectural and structural models so nothing clashes on site.

You'll also build and maintain the BIM models, run QC on drawings and keep the drawing register in order. You'll see a project through from first markup to construction issue.

You'll have at least five years of structural drafting experience, and Revit is the tool you know best. You'll be in it every day. AutoCAD is useful too. You'll also need a drafting or engineering qualification, a good feel for how buildings go together, and the habit of checking your own work twice. Knowing Australian Standards is a bonus.

One thing to be upfront about. This role is full-time in the office on Sydney's Lower North Shore. There's no hybrid. If you need permenant days at home, this isn't the one for you.
