Job summary

Peritas is seeking a Senior Structural Drafter in Melbourne to deliver drafting documentation for a range of projects. You will work with engineers and drafters to ensure accuracy, buildability, and alignment with Peritas standards.

You will drive drafting excellence, refine methods and tools, and mentor junior drafters while contributing to continuous improvement across the team.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience drafting for medium to large projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate drafting drawings and documentation for medium to large projects with accuracy and Peritas standards.
• Collaborate closely with Engineers to resolve technical challenges and support project delivery.
• Identify drafting issues early and propose solutions to maintain quality and schedules.
• Contribute to improvement of drafting methods, tools, and templates to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Review and check complex drawings for accuracy, completeness, and constructability.
• Liaise with external consultants and design teams to ensure documentation clarity and alignment.
• Participate in project meetings, site inspections, and design reviews.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior drafters, encouraging best practices and quality outputs.
• Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing within the drafting team.
• Comply with all HSEQ policies; participate in training and maintain essential documentation.
• Contribute to a safe, quality-focused workplace by identifying risks and supporting corrective actions.
• Engage in emergency preparedness activities to ensure readiness and proactive safety.
