Job summary

The NSW Ombudsman is seeking a Senior Strategy Officer (Clerk Grade 9/10) to drive the organisation's Strategic Plan, oversee governance and transformation programs, and prepare strategic papers for parliamentary inquiries. You will coordinate cross-office initiatives and nurture data-informed approaches to improve public services.

The role requires strong strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable guidance.

Employment: Ongoing or Temporary
Salary Range: Up to $166,786. Package includes salary ($133,348 - $146,945), employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

The Role

The Senior Strategy Officer will support implementation of the NSW Ombudsman’s Strategic Plan and the co-ordination of associated transformation initiatives and governance across the organisation. The role will also lead on the development of strategic papers and cross-office collaborations, such as office submissions to parliamentary inquiries or strategic internal advice.

About you

• Relevant experience in strategy implementation and policy development.
• Effective communication and presentation skills and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders and support the preparation of reports or documentation
• Intellectually curious with a strong capacity for identifying innovative and strategic improvement opportunities.
• Appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent professional experience.
• Experience using data insights to support and improve service delivery.
