Job summary

Water Corporation is seeking a Principal – Strategic Technology Sourcing to lead commercial decisions across our enterprise technology portfolio. You will influence major investments, run tender processes, and negotiate strategic supplier agreements to deliver value and risk management.

You will partner with senior leaders and suppliers to craft sourcing strategies, ensuring value-for-money outcomes and successful implementation of high-value services and projects.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in business, commercial, procurement, law, technology or related discipline.
• Significant experience in strategic sourcing, category management and procurement of complex technology services and projects.
• Demonstrated success leading high-value sourcing activities including tendering, contract negotiations and supplier selection.
• Strong commercial, contracting and negotiation expertise.
• Experience developing sourcing strategies translating business requirements into market-ready solutions.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional initiatives without direct authority.
• Excellent communication skills with executive-level recommendations and procurement documentation.
• Knowledge of enterprise technology environments, managed services, cyber security considerations and supplier ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver category, sourcing and contract strategies for complex enterprise technology services and projects.
• Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing activities including market engagement, tender processes, evaluations, negotiations and supplier selection.
• Provide expert commercial advice on technology sourcing opportunities, risks, commercial models and procurement approaches.
• Build relationships across ICT, operations and corporate functions to align sourcing outcomes with business priorities.
• Analyse supplier markets, technology trends and risks to inform sourcing decisions.
• Design and negotiate commercial arrangements that optimise value, performance and risk.
• Oversee contract mobilisation, transition and implementation through to operational handover.
• Establish governance and performance frameworks that support supplier accountability and value realisation.
• Mentor colleagues and contribute to continuous improvement within the sourcing function.
