Job summary

Unitywater is seeking a Head of Procurement to lead and shape procurement, strategic sourcing, contract management and supply chain strategy across a major Australian water utility region. Reporting to the CFO, you will drive transformation, uplift capability and build a high-performing team to support infrastructure delivery and regional growth.

You will influence executive decisions, champion procurement maturity, manage risk and cultivate supplier partnerships to deliver sustainable long-term

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading procurement, strategic sourcing, category management or supply chain functions within asset-intensive or infrastructure-focused organisations.
• Proven ability to develop and execute procurement strategies that deliver commercial value, manage risk and support objectives.
• Strong leadership, building high-performing teams and driving organisational change.
• Exceptional commercial acumen, including sourcing, contract negotiation and supplier management.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across executives, operations and suppliers.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities to deliver long-term value.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic direction of procurement, shaping sourcing, contract management and supply chain strategies that deliver value and mitigate risk.
• Drive procurement transformation and capability uplift, modernising processes, systems and ways of working.
• Influence major commercial and investment decisions in partnership with executives to optimise supplier performance and enable strategic outcomes.
• Build a high-performing procurement function with a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
