Job summary

The University of Sydney is seeking a Senior Manager, Strategic Projects to lead a portfolio of domestic recruitment initiatives that support student growth and diversity. You will oversee multiple projects, provide leadership to professional staff and cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders across the university.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience leading complex programs, projects and/or portfolios in large, multifaceted environments.
• Proven success in coaching and developing high-performing teams.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management across all organisational levels.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, navigate ambiguity and deliver results in fast-paced settings.
• Exceptional project governance, planning, reporting and risk management capabilities.
• Analytical mindset with data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, delivery and evaluation of strategic domestic recruitment initiatives.
• Manage a portfolio of complex projects and events with on-time, within-scope delivery.
• Provide leadership and coaching to a team of professionals, fostering collaboration and accountability.
• Build relationships with senior stakeholders to drive engagement and shared objectives.
• Oversee governance, reporting, risk management and resource planning for informed decisions.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in recruitment and outreach through innovation and evidence-based practice.
• Contribute to strategic planning within the Domestic Recruitment and Access portfolio.
• Monitor performance, analyse data and provide insights for continuous growth.
