Job summary
W Solutions Co. in Sydney CBD is seeking a Senior System and Storage Engineer to own data centre, storage, and network services within a national cloud infrastructure environment. Hybrid work and strong DevOps background preferred.
The role requires expertise in multi-petabyte storage, Linux, HA clusters, automation with Ansible or Puppet, and experience with monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Prometheus and Grafana.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or a related IT field.
- Experience with data centres, storage deployment and network services.
- Familiar with Linux, HA/clustering concepts, and databases.
- Proficient with monitoring/observability tools: Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana.
- Ability to use AI tools responsibly to augment capability.
Responsibilities
- Infrastructure management: deploy and manage data centres, storage and network services.
- Performance analysis: optimise storage transmission efficiency and access interfaces.
- System support: maintain secure, large-scale, multi-protocol services.
- Administer storage, compute and cloud infrastructure.
- Day-to-day maintenance of multi-petabyte storage systems (disk/tape).
- Capacity planning and usage trending; implement data replication and auto-tiering.
- Manage storage technologies and lifecycle; integrate with HPC, cloud and container infra.
- Troubleshoot system and storage issues; ensure robustness and security.
