Job summary

NEC Corporation in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Senior Storage Engineer to join the Infrastructure Services team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. You will support, maintain, and enhance storage platforms across on-premises and cloud, driving key infrastructure initiatives and service innovation for customers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience supporting enterprise Storage and SAN infrastructure.
• Experience with NetApp, HPE Primera/Alletra, Pure Storage, Hitachi, and Brocade SAN technologies.
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
• Experience delivering infrastructure projects: implementation, migration, upgrade, and design.
• Broad understanding of VMware and Public Cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure).
• Strong ITIL Service Management knowledge.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure.
• Backup technologies such as Commvault.
• Experience with cloud-integrated storage and data protection.
• Exposure to large-scale enterprise or managed services environments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver day-to-day operational support including incident, service request, problem, and change management activities.
• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise storage solutions across on-premises, private cloud, and public cloud environments.
• Manage storage infrastructure lifecycle activities including upgrades, patching, capacity planning, and technology refreshes.
• Deliver project-based work involving installations, migrations, upgrades, and platform enhancements.
• Identify opportunities to improve service quality, performance, and operational efficiency.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and coaching to Infrastructure Services team members.

• Experience delivering infrastructure projects, including implementation, migration, upgrade, and design activities.
• Broad understanding of VMware and Public Cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure).
• Strong knowledge of ITIL Service Management practices.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and perform under pressure.
• Backup technologies such as Commvault.
• Experience with cloud-integrated storage and data protection solutions.
• Exposure to large-scale enterprise or managed services environments.
