Job summary

TikTok USDS Joint Venture is seeking a seasoned Site Reliability Engineer to ensure reliability, performance, and scalability of production systems. You will design, deploy, and operate high-availability infrastructure and mentor teammates in SRE best practices.

You will collaborate with software engineers to diagnose production issues, monitor system health, and drive automation and disaster recovery planning. This role is based in Sydney with on-site work expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Production Engineering or similar role with large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of containers and container orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• In-depth knowledge of Unix/Linux systems administration, network fundamentals and storage systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, deploy, and operate large-scale, high-availability systems.
• Develop and maintain automation tools and processes to improve reliability and efficiency of systems.
• Act as a technical lead for SRE-related initiatives, providing guidance and mentorship to team members.
• Work closely with software engineers to diagnose and resolve production issues.
• Continuously monitor and evaluate the health of systems, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.
• Drive innovation and improvement in infrastructure and processes through experimentation and research.
• Participate in the design and implementation of disaster recovery plans.
