Job summary

TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC in Sydney, Australia, is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to own a mission-critical global e-commerce platform. You will work with engineering and product teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and secure cloud-native operations across complex service meshes.

You will define SLIs/SLOs, drive incident response and post-mortems, and develop automation to reduce manual toil.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Unix/Linux internals and networking.
• Experience coding in Java, Go, Python or similar.
• Experience with algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis and software design.
• Experience developing tools and APIs to reduce manual interaction with systems using various coding and scripting standards.
• Systematic problem-solving approach with effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Own the service level of a critical, revenue-generating E-commerce platform and its infrastructure in a cloud-native environment.
• Define service level indicators and data-driven objectives to uphold uptime, latency and system health.
• Collaborate cross-team with engineering and product for capacity planning and launch reviews.
• Automation focused on infrastructure-as-code, scalability and resiliency.
• Implement SRE practices around incident management, post-mortems and on-call rotations.
