Job summary

Upsun seeks a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to evolve our cloud platform into a proactive, automation-driven SRE model. You will own critical workstreams to improve reliability, scalability, and observability across multi-cloud environments with a focus on performance and resilience.

You will collaborate with engineering and product teams, drive IaC practices with Terraform/Ansible, and lead incident response while aligning with a distributed, remote-first culture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Site Reliability Engineering, Cloud Operations, or DevOps.
• Strong proficiency in Go or Python to build automation tools and SRE components.
• Deep Linux internals knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure, or OpenStack) and declarative IaC tooling.
• Ability to anticipate risks, make architectural trade-offs, and lead initiatives with minimal guidance.
• Excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Architect and elevate system monitoring, alerting, and logging with Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack.
• Design and implement automated infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Scale CI/CD and delivery pipelines for fast, secure, and zero-downtime releases.
• Lead incident response, blameless post-mortems, and preventative improvements.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to embed SRE best practices in roadmaps.
• Evaluate new technologies to optimize platform stability and performance.
• Follow a 4‑week rotation balancing engineering and operations to focus on reliability.
