Job summary

Capital Executive Search is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join a leading AI infrastructure business in Sydney. The role focuses on reliability across large-scale GPU infrastructure, data centres and AI cloud services.

It is a hands-on position involving systems engineering, automation, incident leadership and mentoring across multiple sites. You will own SLOs and error budgets, lead Sev0/Sev1 incident command, and drive fleet-wide remediation and automation to reduce toil.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production reliability or infrastructure engineering experience
• Strong experience in GPU, HPC, cloud or large-scale data centre environments
• Deep expertise across systems/firmware, network/fabric, or platform/observability
• Proven experience delivering cross-site reliability programs with measurable outcomes
• Experience leading major incidents end to end with customer-facing RCAs and post-incident reviews
• Strong software engineering skills in Python or Go with automation and CI/CD
• Experience owning vendor escalations and influencing technical outcomes
• Mentoring engineers and elevating engineering standards
• Hands-on use of AI coding assistants and agentic tools for automation

Responsibilities

• Own service-level objectives (SLOs), error budgets and reliability reviews across multiple sites
• Lead technical incident command for Sev0/Sev1 incidents and deliver RCAs
• Design cross-site remediation and change programs with measurable reliability outcomes
• Establish operational standards for firmware, GPU acceptance, burn-in, and infrastructure provisioning
• Build fleet-level automation to eliminate recurring tickets and drift
• Partner with Cloud Platform Operations, Platform Engineering and Observability teams
• Own technical escalations with vendors such as NVIDIA, Dell or Fortinet
• Develop AI-enabled automation with testing, auditing and human approval controls
• Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering standards across the team
