Job summary

Google LLC is seeking an Engineering Manager for Site Reliability Engineering in Sydney. The role leads a team responsible for building and operating large-scale distributed systems with a focus on reliability and performance.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product and software teams, drive improvements in monitoring and incident response, and oversee automation, SLOs, and capacity planning to maintain production system health.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of software development experience.
• 3 years of people or team management experience.
• 3 years of leading projects.
• 3 years designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of SREs with career development and performance reviews.
• Partner with Software Development teams to design and maintain scalable services.
• Advance monitoring, alerting, and incident response frameworks.
• Automate tasks and manage SLOs and error budgets for stability.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident command in outages; mentor team in Sydney.
