Job summary

UST in Sydney is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to ensure health, monitoring, automation and scalable design of critical systems in production. You will respond to incidents, investigate root causes and drive permanent improvements in reliability, performance and capacity planning.

You will work with cross‑functional teams, participate in on‑call rotations, and help shape release processes, tooling and automation initiatives across cloud, on‑prem and hybrid environments.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of experience as Site Reliability Engineer.
• Experience with cloud technologies, preferably GCP.
• Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Experience with configuration management (Ansible).
• Strong exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, Istio/Anthos.
• Proficiency with Git/Bitbucket and Linux environments.
• Knowledge of monitoring and log tooling (AppDynamics, ELK).
• Experience with Java, Python or JS, microservices architecture.

Responsibilities

• Work with senior engineers to build tooling and testing strategies.
• Troubleshoot production incidents in real time.
• Lead root cause investigations.
• Create centralized logging and monitoring systems.
• Identify automation opportunities and implement them.
• Participate in on-call rotation and weekend shifts.
• Code level debugging on escalated issues.
• Develop tools to automate routine jobs and support release cycles.
