Leidos Australia is seeking a Senior Database Engineer to lead MS SQL services, spanning private and public cloud environments, and to shape reliable, scalable data platforms across multi-vendor settings.

You will drive optimized SQL performance, implement automation, and ensure secure operations while collaborating with cross‑functional teams in a dynamic, mission‑critical environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with MS SQL Server administration and performance tuning.
• Strong SQL and data processing skills.
• Knowledge of data modelling, indexing, backup and recovery, high availability.
• Automation scripting with PowerShell, Python, Bash; familiarity with CI/CD.
• Australian Citizenship and Baseline security clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and improvement of Microsoft SQL services across private and public clouds.
• Oversee database administration for performance, availability, and secure operations.
• Design and implement automation for database provisioning, deployment, monitoring, and operations.
• Integrate database changes into CI/CD pipelines for repeatable deployments.
• Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams to ensure reliable service delivery.
