Job summary

NSW Health is seeking a Senior Speech Pathologist based at Westmead Hospital, within the Community Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service (CBIRS). You will deliver advanced assessment and intervention for adults with complex acquired brain injury, focusing on communication and swallowing and participation in home and community life.

Qualifications

• Recognised tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology and eligibility for SPA membership.
• Evidence of graduate experience and advanced skills in speech pathology across client/family
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working across settings, including home and community
• Commitment to continuing professional education and quality management

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced clinical assessment and intervention for adults with complex brain injury.
• Develop, implement and evaluate personalised rehabilitation plans.
• Lead group therapy programs and contribute to documentation and training.
• Support families, carers and communication partners; educate on AAC and communication devices.
• Contribute to service development, quality improvement and research.
