Job summary

Look Who's Talking is seeking a Senior Speech Pathologist to lead a clinical team and provide assessment and intervention across the lifespan. The role emphasizes leadership, mentoring, and collaboration with families, educators, and healthcare professionals.

You will oversee service development, participate in leadership opportunities, and contribute to innovative allied health initiatives while delivering evidence-based practice in a supportive clinic environment.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology and current membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
• Experience supervising or mentoring clinicians is highly regarded.
• NDIS/Medicare experience and working in aged care services is a plus.

About the Role

As a Senior Speech Pathologist, you'll provide high-quality assessment, intervention, and support services to clients across the lifespan while helping contribute to the continued growth and development of our clinical team.

You'll have the opportunity to build a caseload that aligns with your interests and strengths while working collaboratively with families, educators, support teams, healthcare professionals, and community stakeholders.

Depending on your experience and career goals, this role may also include supervising early and independent career clinicians, supporting student placements, contributing to service development initiatives, and participating in future leadership opportunities within the organisation.

What You'll Be Doing

Clinical Practice

• Delivering evidence-based assessment and intervention services
• Supporting clients across the lifespan with communication, language, literacy, social communication, voice, fluency, swallowing, and mealtime needs (depending on experience and interests)
• Developing individualised therapy plans and recommendations
• Writing reports, funding applications, and professional documentation
• Collaborating with families, educators, support coordinators, medical professionals, and community teams

Leadership & Professional Development

• Supporting and mentoring early and independent clinicians and Allied Health Assistants
• Contributing to clinical discussions and service development initiatives
• Assisting with quality improvement projects and innovative service delivery models
• Participating in professional development and leadership opportunities
• Helping foster a positive, connected, and high-performing team culture

Community & Partnership Work

• Building strong relationships with families and community partners
• Supporting school, early childhood, disability, aged care, and community-based services
• Contributing to workshops, education sessions, and community engagement initiatives

About You

Ideally, You'll Have

• 5-7+ years' experience as a Speech Pathologist
• Experience working with a broad range of clients across the lifespan
• Strong clinical reasoning and assessment skills
• Experience supporting individuals accessing NDIS, Medicare, private, or aged care services
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A passion for professional growth and continuous improvement

Experience in the Following Areas Would Be Highly Regarded

• Clinical supervision or mentoring
• Student supervision

• Mealtime management and dysphagia
• Disability and NDIS services
• School and early childhood partnerships
• Adult and aged care services

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology
• Current Speech Pathology Australia membership (or eligibility)
• Current Positive Notice Blue Card
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
• Current Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle
• Full Australian Working Rights
