Job summary

Amazon Leo seeks a Senior Thermal Design Engineer to join our space systems team. You will perform active thermal analysis for spacecraft, drive design optimization, and support design reviews with system architects.

The role requires 5+ years in spacecraft thermal control, experience with Thermal Desktop or ANSYS, and programming in Python or Matlab. You will lead tests and reliability plans for development and qualification.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in spacecraft thermal control and design optimization.
• Experience with functional specs, verification plans and tests.
• Proven ability to deliver hardware-ready thermal solutions.

Responsibilities

• Support architectural trades with preliminary thermal analysis for spacecraft.
• Perform detailed analyses of active thermal control systems and tradeoffs.
• Drive design optimization balancing mass, cost and reliability.
• Lead thermal cycling and TVAC tests for development and qualification.
• Define test equipment and support sourcing for components.
• Develop reliability plans and document design evolution for reviews.
