Job summary

Gilmour Space Technologies invites a Lead System Modeller Engineer to join our Yatala facility between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. You will lead a team of engineers in developing aerodynamics, thermal and mechanical models, owning modelling tools, and serving as a technical authority across product lifecycles.

The role demands robust experience in FEA/CFD, CAD, and Python, with NV1 clearance eligibility and CPENG/RPEQ readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering.
• 5+ years of engineering modelling experience.
• Ability to model complex systems using mechanical/ aerothermal principles.
• Experience with mechanical CAD Software.
• Experience with FEA and CFD.
• Proficiency in Python programming.
• Eligible for CPENG and RPEQ or already qualified.
• Ability to obtain NV1 Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineers developing aerodynamics, thermal, and mechanical models.
• Provide technical leadership with support from Chief Engineer.
• Own System Modeller processes, tools, and technologies.
• Act as Technical Authority on System Modelling matters.
• Conduct System Modelling from low to high fidelity across product life cycles.
• Coordinate with Launch Vehicle/Launch Site heads and external partners.
• Mentor and support team members; prioritize work allocation.
• Coordinate with other departments; uphold role model standards.
• Collaborate with Human Resources to grow the team.
• Perform other duties as requested by Management.
