Job summary

Gilmour Space Technologies seeks a Lead System Modeller Engineer to drive advanced aerodynamics, thermal and mechanical modelling for spaceflight programs. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, own System Modeller processes and tools, and coordinate with engineers, suppliers and project heads to deliver high fidelity analyses and robust designs.

Requires 5+ years modelling experience, a relevant degree, and NV1 security clearance eligibility; site role between Brisbane and the Gold Coast in

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering or a relevant qualification.
5+ years experience in engineering modelling.
Ability to model a complex system with mechanical/aerothermal principles and mission constraints.
Experience with mechanical CAD software.
Experience with FEA and CFD.
Experience programming in Python.
Must be able to obtain NV1 Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of engineers developing complex aerodynamics, thermal, and mechanical models.
Lead the team technically with support from the Chief Engineer.
Own System Modeller processes, tools and technologies.
Act as the Technical Authority on System Modelling.
Conduct and support System Modelling from low to high fidelity in all product life cycle phases.
Ensure completion of work packages and engage with external suppliers and stakeholders.
Provide expert direction, mentorship and support to the team.
Prioritise work allocation and coordinate with various departments.
