Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Remote PCB Designer Xpedition to support a satellite constellation program. You will define and implement multiple spacecraft subsystems, leading PCB layout efforts with Mentor Xpedition and ensuring robust, space-grade designs.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across design, verification, and manufacturing, applying advanced PCB techniques for high-speed and high-current applications in a remote work environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of PCB layout design experience using industry-standard PCB design suites.
• Hands-on experience with Mentor Xpedition for PCB layout.
• Strong proficiency in PCB layout including placement, routing, and stack-up.
• Experience designing high-speed circuits and high-current density layouts.
• Ability to manage multiple PCB design projects in parallel and meet deadlines.
• Experience coordinating 3rd party PCB layout services and testing.
• Background in electronics lab testing and debugging of boards.
• Bachelors degree in CS/CE/EE or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of signal integrity and power integrity in PCB design.
• Proficiency with schematic capture tools and workflows for PCB design.

Responsibilities

• Lead PCB layout and schematic capture for multiple spacecraft subsystems.
• Own PCB layout activities using Mentor Xpedition and related tools.
• Contribute to all phases of design, verification, and release to manufacturing.
• Apply PCB design, assembly, test, and fabrication best practices.
• Design high-speed, high-current density circuits with attention to signal and power integrity.
• Translate electrical designs into optimized PCB layouts via schematic capture.
• Coordinate and review 3rd party layout Deliverables and provide guidance.
• Test and debug boards using standard lab equipment; drive corrective actions.
• Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate PCB into spacecraft subsystems.
• Support manufacturing and space-environment considerations for PCB designs.
