Job summary

Frontline Recruitment is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join a high-volume kitchen in Geelong, VIC. This hands-on leadership role will coordinate multiple sections, with a focus on the grill, while driving food quality and service standards in a fast-paced pub environment.

Permanent full-time position offering $75,000–$85,000 plus super, a positive team culture, leadership development, and beachside location across the road from the beach. Australian working rights are required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a pub, casual dining or high-volume environment.
• Strong ability to perform under pressure during busy service periods.
• Confident across multiple kitchen sections, particularly the grill.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Experience mentoring and supporting junior kitchen staff.
• Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support day-to-day kitchen operations across busy pub service.
• Work hands-on across multiple sections, with particular strength on the grill.
• Coordinate the kitchen team during high-volume service.
• Maintain consistent food quality, presentation and portion control.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen compliance.
• Mentor and develop junior chefs and kitchen staff.
• Help foster a positive, team-focused kitchen culture.
