Job summary

Energy Safe Victoria is seeking a Senior Solicitor – Regulatory and Corporate to provide high-quality legal guidance across regulatory, governance and corporate matters. You will work with internal stakeholders and external lawyers to drive compliant, risk-aware outcomes.

You will draft and negotiate contracts, lead VCAT proceedings, and contribute to capability development within the Legal team, while embracing hybrid work with two days in the Southbank office.

Qualifications

• Substantial legal experience in-house, government and/or private practice.
• Strong ability to analyse statutes and provide risk-based advice.
• Experience leading complex matters and projects, with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice across regulatory, governance and corporate matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts and other legal documents.
• Lead VCAT review proceedings and manage external legal support.
• Engage and manage external law firms and Counsel, including budgeting.
