Job summary

Energy Safe Victoria is seeking an experienced Lead Solicitor - Regulatory and Corporate to join our Legal and Procurement Department in Melbourne. This senior role will advise executive leaders on regulatory, corporate, privacy, information governance and AI initiatives, and will manage external counsel and develop junior solicitors.

You will lead complex contracts, information sharing and IP matters, while driving governance, risk management and continuous improvement across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Significant senior legal experience in-house, government or private practice.
• Experience leading legal professionals and developing a legal team.
• Proven ability to manage complex contracts and information-sharing arrangements.
• Strong privacy, FOI, and information governance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice on regulatory, corporate and privacy matters.
• Lead commercial law including contracts and information sharing.
• Manage external legal providers and counsel.
• Support organisational projects and legislative reforms.
• Mentor solicitors and ensure governance obligations.
