Job summary

Department: Lrls Legal Advisings & Comm Protection is seeking a Senior Solicitor LO 5 to provide high level legal advice and supervise a skilled team. The role influences law reform, develops policy, and ensures efficient, high-quality legal services making a real community impact.

You will lead and mentor staff, review legislation, and represent the Department in courts and tribunals, while delivering training and collaborating with stakeholders to drive legal standards and improvements.

Qualifications

• Requires admission and eligibility to hold a NSW practising certificate.
• Extensive experience handling complex legal matters and high-stakes cases.
• Proven leadership, mentorship, and supervisory capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide high level legal advice and litigation services on complex areas of law and policy.
• Lead and mentor a legal team to deliver high-quality services.
• Develop policy and contribute to law reform initiatives.
• Represent the Department in courts and tribunals.
• Design and deliver legal training for internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor team performance and ensure timely delivery of outcomes.
