Job summary

Qualifications

• Degree in software engineering, computer science or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of production software development in C++ and Python.
• Experience building graphical operator applications (e.g., Qt).
• Experience integrating systems over network protocols and debugging at wire level.
• Practical experience with Linux development, version control and CI.
• Willingness to work with hardware during integration and trials.
• Clear communication with engineers and end users.
• Willingness to travel to test ranges and trial sites, including out-of-hours work.

Responsibilities

• Develop operator-facing applications and interfaces for laser weapon system control, including situational displays and engagement workflows.
• Integrate with external systems including radar, EO sensors and C2/BMS systems.
• Develop health monitoring, logging, telemetry and post-trial data analysis tooling.
• Build test automation, simulation and stimulation harnesses for testing without full hardware availability.
• Contribute to interface control documents and verify interfaces with customers.
• Participate in code review, automated testing, and continuous integration, and keep documentation current.
• Support integration, trials and demonstrations at test ranges.
• Collaborate with operator and human factors input to ensure legibility and safety under time pressure.
