Job summary

Telstra Corporation is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Java & Microservices for a 9‑month fixed-term contract. You can work from anywhere in Australia and contribute to modern Java applications using Spring Boot and microservice architecture.

You’ll design, develop and support secure, scalable software across diverse domains, collaborating with teams across locations. Bring a strong Java background, cloud experience and a proactive mindset to delivery and quality.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Java 8+, Spring Boot, microservices and design patterns.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, Linux and CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins or Bamboo.
• Experience designing secure, scalable and fault-tolerant cloud solutions.
• Good communication skills, sound judgement and a strong sense of accountability for delivery.
• Degree-level qualifications in Software Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related IT discipline.

Responsibilities

• Develop secure, scalable and high-performing technical solutions across integrated systems.
• Support the full development lifecycle, including configuration, development, testing and production support.

About you
