Job summary

Telstra is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Java & Microservices to design and build Java applications using Spring Boot within a microservice architecture. You will develop secure, scalable solutions across integrated systems and support the full development lifecycle.

You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams across Australia, mentor peers, and contribute to high‑quality documentation. Flexible working arrangements are available, with a focus on delivery and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Java 8+ and Spring Boot.
• Experience with microservices and design patterns.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, Linux and CI/CD tools.
• Experience designing secure, scalable, fault-tolerant cloud solutions.
• Degree-level qualifications in Software Engineering, Systems Engineering or related IT discipline.

Responsibilities

• Design and build Java and Spring Boot applications using microservice architecture.
• Develop secure, scalable and high-performing technical solutions across integrated systems.
• Support the full development lifecycle, including configuration, development, testing and production support.
