Job summary

Latitude IT is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a strong Front-End focus to join our fast-growing engineering team in Sydney or Melbourne. You will design, develop, and modernise customer-facing digital products using React.js and modern front-end practices, delivering scalable solutions across the stack.

You will lead technical discussions, mentor juniors, and advocate for best practices, testing, CI/CD, and AI-assisted development tools, while collaborating with product and business

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of front-end architecture and performance optimisations.
• Experience with React.js and modern front-end development.
• Proficiency in C#.NET and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Experience with SQL Server and Redis.
• Knowledge of microservices and event-driven architecture.
• Experience with TDD and modern CI/CD practices.
• Hands-on with AI-assisted development tools and LLM integrations.

Senior Software Engineer - Front End - Sydney or Melbourne

We're on the lookout for an experienced Senior Software Engineer with a strong Front-End focus to join a fast-growing engineering team at an ASX-listed business.

The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Building, modernising and improving customer-facing digital products.
• Designing, developing and maintaining scalable software solutions, with a strong focus on React.js and modern front-end development.
• Leading technical design discussions and contributing to architectural decisions for major features
• Building high-quality, performant and maintainable applications across the front end and broader technology stack
• Collaborating closely with Product Managers and stakeholders to refine requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions
• Reviewing code, providing constructive feedback and helping maintain high engineering standards
• Identifying and addressing technical debt, performance issues and system bottlenecks
• Championing engineering best practices, including testing, CI/CD and DevOps
• Working within an Agile engineering environment and contributing to continuous improvement
• Supporting and mentoring junior engineers, helping develop technical capability across the team
• Leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and improve code quality
• Helping the engineering team adopt responsible and effective use of AI coding tools and LLM integrations

What You'll Bring:

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong understanding of front-end architecture, performance optimisation, design patterns and modern engineering practices
• Experience with an object-oriented programming language (C#.NET preferably)
• Experience working with cloud platforms, ideally Azure, AWS or GCP
• Solid experience with SQL Server and Redis
• Understanding of microservices and event-driven architecture
• Experience with test-driven development and modern CI/CD practices
• Experience working in Agile development environments
• Hands on experience using AI-assisted development tools
• Experience integrating LLM APIs or AI-powered features into production applications is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms and software design principles
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineering, product and business stakeholders
