Job summary

NetApp Instaclustr in Australia is seeking a collaborative Mid/Senior Software Engineer to join our development team. You’ll work on open-source platforms, provisioning infrastructure, and running scalable distributed applications.

You will own the full lifecycle, mentor teammates, and collaborate with product managers while applying DevOps practices in a 24x7 global environment. The role offers hybrid work from Canberra or Melbourne and opportunities to impact customers worldwide.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in software engineering or computer science.
• 5-10 years of commercial software engineering experience.
• Experience delivering complex technical solutions.
• Proficiency in Java, SQL, and at least one other modern programming language.
• Strong communication and collaborative mindset.
• Curious mindset with customer impact focus.
• Willingness to learn and grow engineering skills.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and enhance our open-source application platform, handling provisioning, deployment, and production reliability.
• Take end-to-end ownership of the development lifecycle from requirements to production.
• Lead the design and implementation of complex development initiatives.
• Mentor junior engineers within the team.
• Collaborate with other teams, operations, and product managers to solve problems.
• Apply DevOps best practices in a global 24x7 environment.
