Job summary

NetApp Instaclustr is seeking a collaborative Software Engineer to join our development team. You will help build, maintain, and operate an open-source application platform that provisions infrastructure, installs applications, and keeps distributed services running reliably in production.

Bring 2–5 years of software experience, strong Java and SQL skills, and a passion for open-source systems. This role offers hybrid work with in-office presence in Canberra or Melbourne.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of commercial software development experience.
• Proficiency in Java and SQL, and at least one other modern programming language.
• Strong communication and collaborative mindset essential for working with multiple teams.
• Curious mindset with a focus on customer impact.

Responsibilities

• Work within a development team of 3–8 engineers to build, maintain, and enhance the open-source application platform.
• Take end-to-end ownership of the development lifecycle from requirements to production deployment.
• Collaborate with other development, operations, and product teams to solve complex problems.
• Learn and apply DevOps best practices as part of a global 24x7 team.
