The role requires 7+ years of professional software development, strong design and leadership experience, and willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Lead software efforts, by assisting in designing new systems and collaborating with other teams to refine requirements.
• Mentor other Engineers.
• Design and build reusable, maintainable, and performant software consistent with Amazon standard technologies.
• Develop best in class software systems for automating Amazon's network.
• Provide technical direction to the team and identify areas of focus.
• Deliver simple, sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes.
• Deal with ambiguity, make data-driven decisions and juggle cross-organization complexity.
• Create and review documentation and process regarding recurring issues, new standard operating procedures and product documentation.
• Participating in 24/7 on-call rotation to troubleshoot high severity issues.
