MongoDB in Sydney is growing the App Analysis & Modelling team to deliver code analysis, schema recommendations, and AI-powered insights that help customers modernise applications. You will help build scalable backend services and APIs while collaborating with product and design to ship cutting‑edge features.

The role suits mid (3–5+ yrs) or senior (5+ yrs) software developers with strong Python and/or Java, SQL proficiency, and frontend exposure (React/TypeScript).

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years software development with Python/Java.
• Experience designing scalable APIs and backend services.
• Strong SQL knowledge and relational data modelling.
• Frontend experience with React and TypeScript or willingness to work full stack.
• CS degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute high-quality, well-tested code to backend and frontend services.
• Design and build scalable APIs and data pipelines for code analysis and schema features.
• Drive technical design and architecture for complex features for senior candidates.
• Collaborate with Product Management, engineers, and designers to deliver on the roadmap.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain high code quality and best practices.
• Provide feedback on technical design documents and pull requests.
• Help troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across the stack.
• Engage in CI/CD, quality, and testing tasks.
• Mentor team members and elevate engineering practices.
