Job summary

Medibank's Digital Engineering division is seeking a hands-on Senior Software Engineer to lead our Web capability with a strong focus on Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). You will guide web development across AEM, front-end and back-end technologies, driving standards and high-quality delivery within agile squads.

This technical leadership role combines active development with mentoring, architecture guidance and process improvement, working to deliver reusable assets and a robust digital platform

Qualifications

• 5+ years software engineering experience with hands-on web development
• Proven hands-on AEM experience — templates, components, authoring patterns
• Strong Java background; experience with RESTful APIs and micro-frontend patterns
• JUnit/Mockito and automated testing mindset; CI/CD and DevOps experience
• Cloud exposure (AWS/Azure/GCP) and teamwork in Agile environments

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of AEM-based solutions and integration with backend services
• Champion coding standards, component frameworks, and secure, testable patterns
• Hands-on development: Java, Sling, OSGi, AEM components and CI/CD contributions
• Build performant front-end experiences (React/TypeScript, HTML, CSS) integrated with AEM
• Mentor engineers, influence delivery practices and contribute to roadmap
• Provide production support and drive continuous improvement and quality controls
