Orica Limited in Richmond, NSW, is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join the Digital Solutions team and help shape the future of OREPro 3D, a mining simulation used worldwide.

You will join a small, cross-functional squad delivering features from data model to UI, focusing on performance for large datasets and 3D rendering. The role blends remote and hybrid work (Newcastle-based) with teams across Australia and overseas.

Qualifications

• Experience building web apps from UI to API and database behind it.
• End-to-end ownership of a project and ongoing maintenance.
• Judgement to prioritise fixes in a mature codebase.
• Speak up when specs or designs won’t work on site.
• Profiling within memory budgets.
• Interest in using AI tooling to enhance development.
• Experience in cross-functional teams delivering high-quality software.

Responsibilities

• Build features and fix bugs across the whole application, from data model to 3D rendering, React interface and web APIs.
• Keep large datasets fast; optimise memory usage and performance.
• Connect OREPro 3D to Predict: inputs, tracking, tuning sweeps, results and replays.
• Industrialise optimisation and geometry algorithms for dig polygons under production pressure.
