Job summary

Lumi in Sydney is seeking a senior full-stack engineer to lead end-to-end design and delivery of features across lending, risk management and customer service systems.

You will mentor engineers, apply AI to improve outcomes, and uphold security, testing and observability while balancing speed and maintainability.

THE ROLE

• Lead the end-to-end design and delivery of features across Lumi’s lending, risk management and customer service systems, working closely with engineers, product managers, designers and business stakeholders.
• Improve the reliability, security, scalability and maintainability of our platform through sound architectural decisions and strong practices across testing, observability and code review.
• Raise the capability of the engineering team by mentoring others, sharing knowledge and helping evolve our technical standards and practices.
• Explore and apply AI technologies where they can improve customer outcomes, internal processes or engineering productivity.
• Demonstrated experience operating as a senior full-stack engineer, ideally building production applications with TypeScript and React.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and experience working with distributed systems or microservices.
• Strong practices across automated testing, security, observability, code review and incident response.
• A track record of owning complex features from shaping and estimation through delivery, rollout and production support.
• Sound judgment when balancing customer value, delivery speed, technical quality, cost and long- term maintainability.
• Experience mentoring engineers and positively influencing technical standards and team practices.
• Experience with, or curiosity about, using generative AI tools effectively as part of the software development.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
