Job summary

CS IT Group in Canberra is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Azure Integration) to join a Federal Government contract, delivering and maintaining enterprise integration solutions in a modern Azure environment.

The role focuses on designing, building and supporting Azure-based integration services, APIs, and data sharing across enterprise platforms, with opportunities to mentor team members and influence governance and delivery strategies.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong experience designing and developing integration solutions using Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with Azure ESB, App Service, Functions and APIM.
• Demonstrated experience building enterprise applications and integrations using .NET and APIs/Web Services.
• Experience with complex ICT environments and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skills.
• Experience with ITIL practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain enterprise integration solutions using Microsoft Azure services.

• Enhance and maintain Azure DevOps deployment pipelines and release processes.

• Produce technical documentation, solution designs and architectural artefacts throughout the development lifecycle.
• Investigate and resolve priority production issues, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions.
• Design and implement data-sharing approaches across Azure storage platforms.
• Mentor developers and application support personnel to improve capability across the team.
• Contribute to risk identification, mitigation planning and delivery governance activities.
• Engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join a high-profile Federal Government program responsible for delivering and maintaining enterprise integration solutions that underpin critical business capabilities.

Working within a collaborative and multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in designing, building and supporting modern Azure-based integration services that enable secure and reliable data exchange across enterprise platforms, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) systems, and custom applications.

Key Responsibilities

• .NET Framework / .NET technologies
• APIs and Web Services
• Experience working within complex ICT environments and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skills.
• Experience with application lifecycle management and ITIL practices.
• Sound understanding of current and emerging technology trends and their practical application to business outcomes.

Desirable

• Experience with Azure DevOps (formerly VSTS) including CI/CD pipeline development and deployment automation.
• Experience developing and maintaining SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) solutions.
• Experience supporting governance, planning and delivery of ICT projects.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
• Relevant Microsoft or industry certifications, or current study toward certification.
