Join a growing technology business with an established SaaS platform
We're working with a growing Australian technology business looking for a Senior Software & DevOps Engineer to join their engineering team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working across both software development and cloud infrastructure, taking ownership of how systems are built, deployed, secured and maintained.
You'll be working on an established, business-critical SaaS platform used by organisations across multiple industries, with the opportunity to influence technical decisions and improve how the platform operates as the business continues to grow.
This isn't a traditional DevOps-only position. We're looking for someone who is equally comfortable writing production C#/.NET code and taking ownership of AWS infrastructure.
Working within a collaborative engineering team, you'll take ownership of key areas of the AWS environment while continuing to contribute to backend application development.
Your responsibilities will include:
Designing, maintaining and improving AWS infrastructure using infrastructure as code.
Developing and maintaining backend services using C# and .NET.
Building and managing AWS infrastructure using CDK, ideally with C#.
Working with AWS services including ECS Fargate, Lambda, VPC, IAM and SSM Parameter Store.
Improving CI/CD pipelines and automating deployments through Azure DevOps.
Managing containerised applications using Docker.
Ensuring cloud infrastructure is secure, reliable, scalable and maintainable.
Contributing to architectural decisions, technical standards and engineering best practices.
Using AI coding agents to support software development, testing, code reviews and delivery.
Ideally, you’ll bring 7+ years of experience across software engineering, cloud infrastructure or DevOps, with strong hands‑on expertise in both C#/.NET and AWS.
Strong commercial experience developing applications using C# and .NET.
Extensive hands‑on AWS experience, including managing production cloud environments.
Experience with infrastructure as code, ideally AWS CDK using C#.
Good understanding of AWS networking, security, IAM and VPC configurations.
Experience with Docker, ECS Fargate and AWS Lambda.
Strong CI/CD experience, ideally using Azure DevOps YAML pipelines.
Experience with Git and modern software development practices.
Practical experience using AI coding tools or agents within professional development workflows.
Ability to take ownership of technical problems and work autonomously.
Experience with event-driven architecture, messaging, CQRS or publish/subscribe patterns.
Background working on multi‑tenant SaaS platforms.
Exposure to ASP.NET Boilerplate (ABP).
Experience with Angular and TypeScript.
Experience developing third‑party integrations or SDKs.
Australian citizenship is required for this position due to the nature of the systems and customers involved. Additional security eligibility requirements may apply.
Permanent opportunity with a growing, established technology business.
Hybrid working arrangements with an office conveniently located in South Melbourne.
Genuine ownership across both application development and AWS infrastructure.
Opportunity to work with modern cloud technologies and AI-assisted engineering practices.
Collaborative engineering environment where your technical input and ideas will be valued.
Work on a business-critical SaaS platform with an established customer base and continued growth.
If you’re a Senior Software Engineer with strong AWS experience, or a DevOps Engineer who enjoys remaining hands‑on with C#/.NET development, we’d love to hear from you.
