Job summary

Gold Coast Hospital & Health Service – Southport QLD is seeking a Senior Social Worker to join Gold Coast Health (GCH), delivering high-quality, evidence-based social work services to paediatric/adolescent populations and supporting student education.

The role requires a tertiary Social Work degree, AASW registration eligibility, vaccination and screening requirements, and a permanent part-time arrangement (60.8 hours per fortnight). It offers a modern setting and flexible work options.

Qualifications

• Tertiary degree in Social Work.
• Eligibility for registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
• Vaccination against Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B.
• TB screening may be required.
• Blue Card / Working with Children Check.
• Criminal History Screening will be required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based interventions including brief counselling, psychoeducation, risk assessment and safety planning.
• Utilise and apply contemporary Social Work frameworks.
• Utilise extensive clinical knowledge to deliver high level, evidence-based Social Work services.
• Manage a complex caseload with a high degree of autonomy, exercising independent clinical judgement.
• Contribute to student education and training ensuring high standards of social work practice.
