Job summary

Nixil Pty is seeking a hands-on Senior Snowflake / DBT Engineer to modernise data platforms for a large, regulated financial-services environment. You will shape dbt architecture, establish reusable engineering standards and deliver scalable Snowflake transformations.

In this role you’ll design Snowflake/dbt solutions, implement automated testing, manage CI/CD pipelines and maintain model lineage across environments, with office-based roles across CBD locations in Australia.

Qualifications

• Banking/financial-services experience in large, regulated environments.
• Proven expertise in Snowflake, SQL and dbt.
• Strong dbt architecture, models, macros and reusable standards.
• Data modelling, transformation engineering, automated testing and data-quality experience.
• CI/CD, Git, environment promotion, model lineage and dependency management.
• AWS cloud experience.
• Terraform / IaC experience.
• Snowpark and Python experience.
• Teradata or legacy data-platform modernization experience.
• Relevant Snowflake certifications.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Snowflake and dbt solutions with advanced SQL.
• Shape dbt architecture, build models/macros, and establish reusable standards.
• Deliver data modelling and transformation engineering.
• Implement automated testing and data-quality controls.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows and environment promotions.
• Maintain model lineage and dependencies across environments.
• Support legacy-to-Snowflake transformation and modernisation efforts.
