Aussie Broadband Limited is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer to design, build, and operate automated solutions that ensure scalable, resilient systems essential for growth. You will enhance observability, monitor performance, and collaborate across teams to optimize reliability and cost.

The role emphasizes mentorship, shared ownership, and continuous improvement, with flexible working arrangements and a strong focus on security and best practices.

Qualifications

• Understanding of telco industry and reference platform architectures for cloud, IaaS and CaaS.
• Software engineering background or experience writing well-tested, maintainable code.
• Proficiency in Go or Python; PowerShell is a bonus.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and Kubernetes.
• Strong Linux systems and networking knowledge; distributed, HA architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and implement automated solutions to improve reliability and uptime of critical services.
• Enhance observability with monitoring, alerting and logging to preempt issues.
• Analyze performance and balance cost, utilization and throughput with reliability.
• Identify bottlenecks and collaborate with teams to fix them.
• Maintain infrastructure via IaC tools (ArgoCD, Ansible, Terraform) for consistency and automation.
• Monitor resource usage and plan for growth to scale infrastructure and apps.
• Mentor staff and foster a culture of shared ownership and continuous improvement.
