NSW Department of Education seeks a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to lead the design, operation and continuous improvement of our distributed infrastructure and observability platforms. You will set reliability standards, balance stability and change, and apply automation to reduce incidents while providing teams with actionable insights.

You will implement monitoring, incident response and capacity planning, using Ansible and Nomad, and collaborate across the directorate to support teaching,

Qualificações

• Current Working with Children Check clearance for paid employment.
• Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or demonstrated equivalent experience in systems engineering.
• Commitment to public education and the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy.

Responsabilidades

• Design and improve monitoring, alerting and reliability standards for distributed systems.
• Lead observability infrastructure across platform services, including metrics, logs and traces.
• Automate infrastructure and operational tasks using Ansible, Nomad and infrastructure-as-code tooling.
• Lead incident response, root cause analysis and remediation to improve system reliability.
• Provide technical leadership on SRE practices, platform design and capacity planning.
