Job summary

Bennelong Energy Services Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior Security Technician to join our Melbourne team. You will lead installation, testing and commissioning of CCTV, access control, and intrusion systems across Melbourne and regional VIC.

You will mentor junior technicians and coordinate with project managers to ensure safe, on-time delivery and high workmanship standards. Australian work rights and a current VIC Security Licence are required.

Qualifications

• Current VIC Security Licence.
• Current Cabler Registration with structured cabling endorsements highly regarded.
• Experience as a senior security technician or project-based security technician.
• Strong experience installing and commissioning CCTV, access control and intrusion systems.
• Ability to work unsupervised and manage site-based project tasks.
• Ability to lead small teams and coordinate works with other trades.
• Strong fault-finding, commissioning and problem-solving skills.
• Strong customer service and professional communication skills.
• Ability to complete reporting and project documentation in a timely manner.
• Australian work rights and ability to pass police/security checks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and complete electronic security project works across Melbourne, Greater Melbourne and Regional VIC.
• Install, terminate, test and commission CCTV, access control, intruder detection and intercom systems.
• Lead small teams of technicians, electricians, apprentices and subcontractors on site.
• Complete site inspections and assist with technical scoping for project quotations.
• Work closely with project managers to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to scope.
• Complete daily project updates, site inspection reports and project completion documentation.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, cable management, labelling, commissioning and handover.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during installation and commissioning.
• Liaise professionally with clients, facility managers, builders, consultants and other trades.
• Ensure all works are completed in accordance with BES WHS, quality and client requirements.
• Assist with mentoring junior technicians and apprentices.
• Support reactive and corrective works when required.

Job description

Bennelong Energy Services is a fast-growing electrical and security services company operating across NSW, VIC and the ACT. We provide electrical, security and technology services to some of Australia’s leading Facilities Management, Government, Defence, Education, Petroleum, Retail and Commercial clients.

Our Security Department specialises in the design, installation, commissioning, maintenance and upgrade of electronic security systems, including access control, CCTV, intruder detection, intercoms, and integrated security platforms.

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Security Technician to join our Melbourne team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and complete electronic security project works across Melbourne, Greater Melbourne and Regional VIC.

• Wisenet Wave / Hanwha Vision
• Axis CCTV and intercom systems
• IP CCTV, networking and server-based VMS platforms
• Certified training may be provided for the right candidate.

Qualifications & Experience

The successful applicant will ideally have:

• Current VIC Security Licence.
• Current Cabler Registration, with structured cabling endorsements highly regarded.
• Experience as a senior security technician or project-based security technician.
• Strong experience installing and commissioning CCTV, access control and intrusion systems.
• Ability to work unsupervised and manage site-based project tasks.
• Ability to lead small teams and coordinate works with other trades.

Highly desirable:

• Inner Range Integriti certification.
• Gallagher certification.
• Genetec, Milestone, Digifort or Wisenet Wave experience.
• ACMA Open Registration with Data, Fibre or Coax endorsements.
• AGSVA Baseline or NV1 clearance.
• Experience working in Government, Defence, Education, Petroleum or Commercial environments.
