Job summary

Talenza is seeking a Security Engineer for a 6-month contract in Sydney with hybrid working options. The role focuses on designing and strengthening security controls across cloud, SaaS and on-premises environments.

You will own security platforms, drive automation, and collaborate with infra and architecture teams to reduce cyber risk. A hands-on background in security tech and DevOps practices is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in Security Engineering, Cloud Security, or Infrastructure Security.
• Hands-on experience implementing and improving security controls across cloud, SaaS and on-prem environments.
• Strong understanding of security technologies such as SIEM, EDR, network security, cloud security, SASE or vulnerability management.
• Experience with tools such as Netskope, BeyondTrust, and CrowdStrike.
• Experience leveraging scripting, automation, APIs or DevOps practices to improve security outcomes.
• Comfortable working with technical and non-technical stakeholders to embed security into projects and technology initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and enhance security controls across cloud, SaaS and on-premises environments.
• Own and optimise security platforms, ensuring they remain effective, resilient and aligned to business requirements.
• Drive security automation through scripting, integrations and DevOps-style practices to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Develop and tune detection capabilities, supporting SIEM onboarding, monitoring, alerting and remediation activities.
• Partner with infrastructure, application and architecture teams to support secure technology delivery and reduce cyber risk.
