Help drive the sales pipeline for Sydney’s newest large-scale event destination

This is an opportunity to play a key role in the pre-opening sales journey for Harbourside, one of Sydney’s most significant new event destinations, offering the scale, flexibility and location to attract conferences, corporate events, gala dinners, incentive programs and major business events from national and international markets.


We are seeking an experienced industry Senior Sales Manager – MICE to join our newly developed Harbourside sales team and play a key role in building, managing and converting the sales pipeline for this significant new Sydney event destination.


This is a hands‑on senior sales role for someone with strong experience across corporate and MICE markets who knows how to create opportunities, build client relationships and, importantly, progress business through the sales cycle to conversion.


The role will combine proactive new business development with management of inbound opportunities, providing dedicated senior sales capability as the Harbourside pipeline continues to build.


About The Role

Reporting to the Group Head of Sales you will take an active role in driving revenue across corporate, PCO, conference and broader MICE markets.


You will proactively identify and develop new business while managing and converting inbound opportunities, building strong relationships with corporate clients, PCOs, event agencies and key decision‐makers.


You will take ownership of opportunities throughout the sales cycle maintaining momentum, developing the right sales approach, coordinating site inspections and presentations, and driving opportunities towards confirmation.


As part of the broader Harbourside sales team, you will also work collaboratively across major MICE opportunities, providing senior sales and conversion support where required to ensure opportunities are effectively progressed and maximised.


Your Responsibilities


  • Drive new business across corporate, PCO, conference and MICE markets.

  • Proactively identify and pursue new clients and business opportunities through targeted outbound sales activity.

  • Manage and convert inbound corporate, conference and MICE enquiries, ensuring strong response times, follow‑up and sales momentum.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, PCOs, event agencies and key event decision‐makers.

  • Take ownership of major sales opportunities, developing appropriate strategies to progress them from initial enquiry through to confirmation.

  • Lead client engagement across site inspections, presentations, proposals, negotiations and other key stages of the sales process.

  • Provide senior sales support to progress major MICE opportunities through to conversion where required.

  • Develop existing and strategic accounts, identifying opportunities to increase event frequency, revenue and share of business.

  • Drive repeat and incremental business across the existing client portfolio.

  • Identify opportunities across the broader Doltone House portfolio where appropriate.

  • Maintain disciplined follow-up and clear next steps across all active opportunities.

  • Maintain accurate CRM records and visibility over pipeline status, activity and conversion.

  • Work collaboratively with the broader sales team to maximise opportunities and ensure clear ownership throughout the sales process.

  • Provide relevant client and market intelligence to support future sales activity and revenue opportunities.


About You

You are an experienced and commercially driven sales professional who understands the corporate, conference and MICE environment and enjoys both creating new business and actively progressing inbound opportunities through to conversion.


You Will Ideally Bring


  • Significant sales experience within MICE, business events, venues, hotels, hospitality or a related sector.

  • Strong experience selling to corporate clients, PCOs, event agencies and business‐event decision‐makers.

  • A proven ability to proactively generate new business rather than relying solely on inbound enquiries.

  • Strong commercial sales and negotiation capability with a demonstrated ability to convert opportunities into revenue.

  • Experience managing significant or complex event opportunities through multiple stages of the sales cycle.

  • Strong account‐management capability with the ability to grow existing relationships and secure repeat business.

  • Excellent presentation, relationship‐management and client‐engagement skills.

  • Strong pipeline management and CRM discipline.

  • The confidence to manage senior client relationships and represent Harbourside and Doltone House professionally in market.

  • A proactive, accountable approach with the ability to create momentum and maintain follow‑through.

  • The ability to work collaboratively within a broader sales team while maintaining clear ownership of outcomes.
