Job summary

General Pants is seeking a Senior Sales Assistant to energize the GP experience on the shop floor and help lead store operations.

You’ll drive customer connections, own shift responsibilities, mentor teammates, and keep the store on-brand through recovery and merchandising refresh.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years’ experience in a retail, hospitality or customer-facing role.
• Genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a natural ability to connect with people.
• Proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, stay organised under pressure and maintain high standards.

Responsibilities

• Creating a genuine and positive experience for every customer, and owning your KPI performance to drive store sales targets and results
• Opening and closing the store in line with GP security procedures, alarm management and daily checklists
• Mentoring and coaching team members, helping them build product knowledge, confidence and capability on the floor
• Leading floor recovery and merchandise refresh to keep the store commercial and on-brand
• Acting as the go-to person on shift for questions, escalations and problem solving when a manager isn’t on the floor
• Supporting loss prevention, stock management and store presentation standards at all times

General Pants is one of Australia and New Zealand’s most iconic fashion retailers, and we’re on the hunt for a driven Senior Sales Assistant to bring the GP energy to life at our (insert store) store. As a Senior Sales Assistant, you’ll drive the GP experience through authentic customer connections and genuine selling energy, while taking ownership of store operations – opening, closing and keeping our systems running. You’ll play a key role in developing the team around you, leading floor recovery and merchandise refresh, and stepping up as the go-to person on shift.

What You Will Be Doing
